I thank you for your prayers, support and goodwill.... Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Enugu North Senatorial zone with one voice endorsed Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for a second term in office. The historic endorsement was made during the Zonal mega Rally in Nsukka on 1st July. 2018.

The epoch event commenced with a massive reception of Gov. Ugwuanyi at Opi junction from where the precession moved along the major roads of Nsukka to Government field

Speaking on the reason for the endorsement at the rally The chairman of the central planning committee Rt. Hon. Princess Stella Ngwu has this to say.

“We are celebrating Gov.Ugwuanyi's achievement in three years Inspite of economic recession.     We are endorsing the Governor for a second term in office to complete his good works across the state”

Representing his colleagues in the state house of assembly. The leader of the house Rt.Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, Speaks.  

“We are rejoicing due to peacefull and inclusive governance of  Gov. Ugwuanyi. The Governor is a man of discipline, humility, accountability, integrity, and patience. All we are saying is that the various support groups should translate to countable votes. and vote in our Governor correctly.”

Next was the representative of Enugu North senatorial zone    Senator Chukwuka Utazi accompanied by his Enugu state colleagues in the National Assembly  

“ Gov. Ugwuanyi is our brother and friend. Nsukka as a whole is telling you that we are behind you.    Your excellency you have given us unity of purpose and understanding. Anywhere you go.  We pitch our tent with you. We are assuring that come 2019. It is going to be a smooth ride.       You are accepted across Enugu State”

Meanwhile moving the motion for endorsement of  Gov. Ugwuanyi on behalf of Nsukka people        The first former governor of Enugu state              Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo speaks

“We have agreed that Gov.Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is the best Governor in Nigeria. He satisfies all the zones in  Enugu state. A performing Governor like him, we say continue with your good works. Nsukka people are proud of you.  The East,        the West and now the North have endorsed you The massive crowd today is to express our pride and happiness with the  governor for his outstanding performance .  Based on the popular wishes of the people I move a motion for          Gov. ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to be endorsed today  in this mega Rally for second term in office as Governor of Enugu state”.

Elder Statesman. Barr Maximus Ugwuta added to the motion.

 “ Nsukka is known as peacefull people.              We accept when someone is doing well. Everybody has confirmed the good works of    Gov. Ugwuanyi. The voice of people is the voice of God. My task is easy. Our Governor we support the motion. You are going back. There is no contest. So I support the motion for your return”.

Also the Former senator for Enugu North senatorial zone. Senator fidelis Okoro supported the motion.

“ There is a motion on the floor. My Job is to ask our people whether they support the return of           Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.   (loud crowd ovation) The Yes have it .Your excellency as you can see,     the overwhelming response from our people shows they have agreed that you will return to complete your good works. So your excellency you have therefore been endorsed by the entire Nsukka senatorial district to return to lion building and continue your wonderfull performance”. 

Next the traditional rulers from the zone honoured Gov. Ugwuanyi with an “Offor” signifying symbol of authority.

Notable Nollywood celebrities in the likes of Pete Edochie, Nkem Owoh.(Osuofia).John Okafor( Ibu), Rachael Okonkwo(Nkoli nwa Nsukka) and Chairman actors guild of Nigeria, Enugu state Chinwe Owoh also pledged their support to the Governor.  According to them Gov. Ugwuanyi has given a new lease of life and raised the horizon of the creative industry.

While showing his appreciation The Chairman PDP Enugu State Hon Augustine Nnamani has this to say

 “ On behalf of Enugu State chapter of our great party PDP. I commend Nsukka people for comming out massively to endorse our              Dear Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. Today's endorsement is beyond PDP. We witnessed the presence of Traditional rulers, traders, students and various support groups. This endorsement has been done by Enugu East and Enugu West and we are here today to crown it all. I thank your excellence in a special way because your style of leadership is the reason for this great gathering. We have a Governor that recognise the existence of everyone. We are assuring you that PDP family is strongly behind you. We are saying that your Re-election in 2019 is accomplished”.

The climax of the occassion was the address by The Enugu state Governor. RT. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. In his humble and charismatic manner The Governor appreciated his endorsement by the people

 “  Nsukka people I greet you. My brothers and Sisters I thank you all. I thank the awesome God.    In Enugu state and all we do,  we give God glory and adoration. As we submit Enugu state to God. We are witnessing the hand of God in what we do. 

“My people who owns me I thank you all. My next life I wish to  return to Nsukka. I am grateful for the endorsement. I thank Enugu West and Enugu East senatorial zone for their endorsement. I want to use the opportunity to appreciate the organisers for a wonderfull ceremony. I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Also we have the endorsement of God with blessing of rain. We are fulfilled. The best decision we made is to hand Enugu state in the hands of God. Everything else will be added.

“ What I have today is appreciation. I thank all the stakeholders in the state. You agreed to uphold peace. So there is peace in Enugu state.  You are the reason why I am here May God bless you.       It shall be well with you. The grace of God is with us. I cannot exhaust my profound gratitude. 

“ I just want to tell you that I am happy for the rain.We are in the rainy season. Rain is falling and   you are  here. That is the difference.

“ Finally My people you are all that I have.      Please pray for me and pray for Enugu State.      So that God will continue to guide us. So that we will continue to do the right things. So that we continue to add value to governance. With your prayers and support, victory is ours in Jesus Name. Nsukka people I thank you.

The inspiring speech from  The Governor drove the crowd into a happy frenzy of jubilation and celebration. Songs of solidarity filled the air at Government field Nsukka.

Capturing the historic moment.  The Chairman Nsukka LGA.Chief Patrick Omeje has this to say. 

“ The massive turnout today is a sign of people's trust, loyalty and support for Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. His open door policy endears him to the people.  The dynamic Governor is an epitome of faith and good works. I wish him God’s blessing.  May he rise to greater heights. 

“We will pray for him and work to mobilize voters and ensure he returns to lion building come 2019”.

Dignitaries that graced the event includes Enugu state Deputy Governor Hon. Bar. Cecilia Ezeilo, Speaker of the House of assembly RT. Hon Edward Ubosi, National and State assembly representatives.
