Environmental protection will sustain development........ Chief Patrick Omeje


The Chairman Nsukka LGA.  Chief Patrick Omeje has stressed the need to  avoid dumping of refuse waste on roads, water channels and public utilities. According to him such actions cause flooding and disease outbreak against the people


“ I discovered the need to intensify clean  sanitary condition in Nsukka due to negative health implication of dirty environment. I don’t want my people to suffer from unfortunate outbreak of dangerous disease like cholera and Lasser fever in my domain.  You and I know how poor my people are, so it is a matter of preventions being better  than cure. 

"Now flooding is a natural disaster that affects my council so their is need to stop blocking the drainages with refuse so that rain water can flow freely instead of diverting and damaging people's homes and business. I  embarked on a marshal plan on environmental hygiene and cleanliness to sensitize my people on the need to clean their surroundings.

" Clean environment promotes health security, attracts investments and spread better standard of living.    

I urge  people to participate and support government projects by cleaning their environment and protecting public utilities”.      The Chairman added.
